Effective October 22, 2026.
These terms apply to your use of alterphaseroofing.com (the "website"). The website is run by Alter Phase Roofing Contracting (legal name Alter Phase Contracting Inc), 61 Appleby Ave, Staten Island, NY 10305 ("we", "us", "our"). By using the website, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the website.
Who we are
We're a family-owned roofing contractor licensed by the NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection as a Home Improvement Contractor, license #2129904-DCWP. You can confirm any contractor's license on the City's website before you hire them, and we encourage you to.
Prices on this website are guides, not offers
The prices on our pages, price cards, guides and in our roof cost estimator are typical ranges based on the jobs we've done. They're there to help you plan, not to quote your job.
- Your actual price depends on your roof: its size and pitch, the number of layers to remove, the condition of the deck, access, the materials you choose, and whether a permit is required.
- The estimator shows a range, not a quote. It doesn't save or send what you enter.
- Advertised prices such as "starting at" apply to small, simple roofs and are confirmed after an inspection.
- Your price is the one in your written estimate. We give it to you after a free inspection.
We update our published prices from time to time. A written estimate shows how long its price is valid.
Requesting an estimate
When you send an estimate request, you agree that the information is accurate and that you are the owner of the property, or authorized by the owner, its manager or its board.
By sending a request, you're asking us to contact you about it, so we'll call or text you at the number you give us. Your carrier's standard message and data rates may apply. We won't use your number for unrelated marketing. Tell us to stop at any time and we will.
Requesting an estimate costs nothing and doesn't commit you to anything.
Our roofing work is covered by a written contract
Any work we do for you is covered by a separate written contract, as New York City law requires for home improvement work. That contract, not this website, sets out the scope of work, price, payment terms, schedule, permits, your rights (including any right to cancel) and our warranties.
- Warranties:
- Our workmanship warranty is described in your contract.
- Manufacturer warranties (up to 50 years on qualifying systems) are issued by the manufacturer under its own terms and registration requirements.
- Warranty lengths on this website are the maximums available. The warranty for your job is the one in your documents.
- Timing: when we say most roofs are done in a single day, that's our typical experience on Staten Island homes, not a promise for every job. Weather, roof size and deck repairs can change it. Your schedule is in your contract.
Reviews and testimonials
The reviews on this website were written by real customers on Google, Yelp, HomeAdvisor, Angi and the Better Business Bureau. We show them word for word, sometimes shortened with "…". We don't pay for reviews. Every roof is different, and one customer's experience doesn't guarantee the same result for yours.
Photos and content
The project photos on our roofing pages are of our own crew and our own jobs. Some product pages, such as siding colors and styles, may use manufacturer product images to show what's available.
Everything on this website, including text, photos, graphics, the logo and the design, belongs to us or is used with permission. You're welcome to share links to our pages. Please don't copy our content or photos for commercial use without asking.
Information and guides
Our guides and articles are general information to help homeowners understand their options. They aren't a substitute for an inspection of your roof, and they aren't legal, insurance or engineering advice. Rules such as NYC permit and energy code requirements change, so we confirm what applies to your job before work starts.
Links to other websites
We link to other websites, such as Google Maps, review platforms, manufacturers and NYC agencies, for your convenience. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content or practices.
Using the website responsibly
Please don't misuse the website. That includes:
- sending spam or false requests through our forms
- trying to break into or disrupt the website
- collecting other people's information
- using the website for anything unlawful
No guarantees about the website
We work to keep the website accurate and available, but it's provided "as is". We can't promise it will always be error-free or online. If you spot a mistake, please tell us and we'll fix it.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses that come from using, or not being able to use, this website or relying on its general information. This doesn't limit anything in a written contract between us, or any rights you have under New York law that can't be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the website or the law changes. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the website after a change means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any dispute about the website will be handled in the state courts located in Richmond County (Staten Island), New York.
