The short answer

If your roof is leaking right now, call (929) 370-1552. We answer 24/7 and send a crew the same day to tarp or temporarily seal the roof. We're based on Staten Island, so this is where we can usually reach you fastest. Meanwhile: move valuables, catch drips in a bucket, and never climb onto a wet or damaged roof yourself.

What to do right now

  1. Call (929) 370-1552. Tell us where the water is coming in and how fast.
  2. Protect your things. Move furniture, rugs and electronics. Put a bucket or towels under the drip.
  3. Mind the ceiling. If drywall is bulging with water, a small hole at the lowest point lets it drain safely into a bucket.
  4. Cut power to wet fixtures at the breaker.
  5. Stay off the roof. Wet shingles and damaged decking are how people get hurt.
  6. Take photos of the damage inside and out, from the ground. Your insurer will want them.

What happens when we arrive

Stop the water

We tarp the damaged area or apply a temporary seal so no more water gets in, even if the storm isn't over.

Find the cause

We trace the leak to its source: torn shingles, lifted flashing, a punctured flat roof, a failed skylight or a blocked drain.

Document it

Photos and written notes of the damage and its cause, so you have what your insurance company needs.

Fix it for good

Once the roof is dry and safe, we make the permanent repair. If the roof is beyond repair, you get a written price for a replacement instead.

Common Staten Island roofing emergencies

  • Wind damagefrom nor'easters and summer storms: missing shingles, peeled flat-roof membrane, loose metal edges. Homes near the water in South Beach, Midland Beach, Oakwood and Great Kills take the hardest hits.
  • Fallen trees and brancheson wooded streets in Todt Hill, Westerleigh and Huguenot
  • Sudden leaksaround chimneys, vents and skylights
  • Ponding and drain backupson flat roofs over rear extensions and garages after heavy rain
  • Ice damsforcing meltwater under shingles in winter

The worries we hear at 2 a.m.

Will I pay a premium because it's an emergency?

No. We tell you what the temporary fix costs before we start, and the permanent repair follows our normal pricing. See our roof leak repair cost guide.

Will insurance pay?

Often, for sudden storm damage. We give you photos, notes and a written estimate to send your adjuster.

Do I need a whole new roof now?

Usually not. Most emergencies end with a repair. If the roof is truly done, you'll see why in the photos.

“10/10 would recommend! This is the second time I've used this company, and they've been excellent both times. The first time was a few years ago for a full shingle replacement. Most recently, I called them back to repair my flat roof and gutter system after a rough winter caused pooling and a leak. They came out the very next day to assess the issue, which I really appreciated. The team was professional, polite, and their pricing was extremely fair. Because of the weather, the job required multiple visits but their communication was consistent, clear, and reliable throughout. They always showed up exactly when they said they would, which is rare these days. It's hard to find a trustworthy company for major home repairs, especially when so many are overpriced and underdeliver. This team exceeded expectations, and I'll absolutely continue to use them in the future.”

Emergency roof repair: common questions

Do you really answer at night and on weekends?

Yes. Our emergency line, (929) 370-1552, is answered 24/7 for active leaks and storm damage.

What does emergency roof repair cost?

Emergency tarping or a temporary seal is priced by the size of the area. Permanent repairs follow our normal pricing: most are $400 to $1,500, and storm-damaged sections typically run $1,500 to $3,500. We explain the price before we start.

Will my insurance cover storm damage to my roof?

Most homeowners policies cover sudden damage from wind, falling trees and storms, but not wear and age. We photograph the damage, note the cause and give you a written estimate, which is what adjusters usually ask for.

What should I do while I wait for the crew?

Move furniture and electronics away from the leak and put a bucket under drips. If a ceiling is bulging with water, poke a small hole in the center so it drains into the bucket instead of collapsing. Turn off power to any wet light fixtures. Do not go up on the roof.

Can you fix a roof leak in the rain?

We can stop the water in almost any weather with a tarp or temporary seal. The permanent repair is done when the roof is dry and safe, usually within a few days.
