What every NYC roof job needs
A licensed contractor. NYC requires a DCWP Home Improvement Contractor license for residential work; ours is #2129904-DCWP. Only licensed contractors can file DOB permits.
The right permit decision. Like-for-like reroofing often doesn't need a permit, but deck replacement, roof-type changes, commercial roofs and some full replacements do. Read more in our NYC roof replacement guide.
Code-compliant materials. Most new and replacement low-slope roofs need a reflective cool-roof surface, and full replacements can trigger Local Laws 92/94 sustainable roofing zones.
A written contract. NYC consumer protection rules require written contracts for home improvement work. Ours itemize materials, labor, disposal and permits.
